A Day With The Chevrolet Corvette Z06

New Chevrolet Corvette Z06 model:

When it comes to supercars, most people don’t consider Chevrolet as being one of the most popular brands. However, that’s something that’s likely to change in the future thanks to the new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 model. We wanted to find out a little more about why so many people are attracted to this vehicle. So, we managed to get hold of one for the day to write this review. With a bit of luck, we’ll highlight all the pros and cons of owning this automobile. Of course, you should still test drive any model before making a substantial investment. That is especially the case when you will have to spend somewhere between $78,000 and $97,000 for the latest editions.

1) The morning drive:

Getting hold of a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 for review purposes isn’t the easiest task. However, many specialists run Corvette lease offers, and so we managed to get one after a couple of hours. We chose to spend the morning testing the car on urban roads in our local city. While the supercharged engine provides an immense amount of power, we found it more than capable of handling short commutes. So, it’s not the type of supercar you have to keep in the garage for most of the year. If you can cover the fuel costs, it’s more than suitable for getting you from A to B.

It handles like a dream, and the engine is exceptionally quiet from inside the vehicle.

2) The midday drive:

At around 12 o’clock, we decided to put the Corvette Z06 through its paces. That meant we had to head towards the freeway and take things up a notch. You may remember we did the same thing when reviewing the Chevrolet Cruze a few months ago. With an 8-speed automatic transmission, it’s easier to drive at speed than most similar cars. However, we struggle to reach the reported top speeds of 205 MPH due to traffic restraints. That said, we did record 0-60 MPH in less than four seconds. So, it’s quick off the mark and more than capable of overtaking any other drivers on the road. We felt safe travelling at high speeds because the car comes with many impressive safety features. The vehicle comes with four airbags as standard, but there’s also an onboard computer that helps to highlight any issues.

3) The evening drive:

We wanted to find out how this car performs when the sun goes down. So, we decided to stay on the freeway for a few hours. The handling was excellent, and we didn’t encounter any problems at all. The car is stable and reliable, even when driving fast in poor conditions. As we have already mentioned, the advanced safety features made us feel more confident at speed. However, the small lights have the potential to cause issues for drivers in larger automobiles and trucks. It was evident a truck driver didn’t notice us overtaking him when he turned out and almost caused an accident. Of course, he might not have been paying attention, but it made us worry about the level of visibility.

All in all, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is an excellent model for which the manufacturers should feel proud. It beats any other car produced by the company during the last ten years, and sales reflect that fact. If you’re looking for a supercar that’s suitable for everyday road use, you’ll struggle to find anything better. Just be careful if you plan to drive at night, and remain aware of other road users.
